Interview with
Perforo

by An Ork

An Ork
Hi Perforo! Could you explain the meaning & origin of that name?
Well, this is a question I get asked quite a lot, it's actually pretty funny haha. So I was training for my quest cape, I had a about 5 quests left and one of them was ROTM. I was training mining at the lava flow mine, during my time there I actually started to admire mining. I also took a Latin class and I kinda liked the Latin language. So I Google translated Mining in Latin, it showed up for me as "Perforo" so that's how I took the name. But a few months ago I Google translated it again and it turned out Perforo means to penetrate, but everybody knows me as Perf so I could hardly change right now.

What is it about Zaros you like so much?
His honesty. That is a trait I appreciate a lot IRL. One of the first things Zaros said to me was "Know this, I shall never lie to you." Trust is important for me, Zaros has won my trust and therefore I follow him.

If there was no Zaros, which god would you follow?
I would probably be a part of The Godless. I really do not like any of the other gods and I am fond of the idea that we are free to do our own things and make our own choices. I think Gielinor would be a much better place without Gods, well except for Zaros then. 1- icon biggrin.png

Your new RSN (Geweld (Violence, Ed.)) is quite... violent! What is it that made you change your name from Perforo to Geweld?
That's very simple to answer. I wanted a Dutch word to be my RSN. I know it was silly, hence why I already changed back to Perforo.

Santa Ends
What kind of songs do you like to listen to? What's your favourite band/ song if you have one?
I can't really choose any genre. I prefer everything. I like Hardstyle, dubstep, reggae, classical, pop, rap. I'd like to think that I have a passion for music, but then again I play no musical instruments so that statement would be false.

Do you watch any shows?
I am a major fan of The Walking Dead, it's my favourite show of all time. I also recently watched every episode of Breaking Bad in about 2 weeks time. That series was absolutely amazing and deserves the 9.7/10 it got on IMDB. Then there is Game of Thrones which I'm kind of addicted to as well, I like it and it's a good show to pass the time with whilst I wait for The Walking Dead season 5 to start.

How are you doing?
I'm doing absolutely fine right now, better than I ever felt before. 1- icon biggrin.png

Are you a busy man IRL?
No, not at all, I have no job. I basically spend my time with friends, going out or gaming.

What do you want to be next time, when you come out of school?
In about 3 weeks I'll have my exams, after that I'll have 3 months of holiday and then I'll start college. I will do a bachelor in Business Economics and afterwards I want to get a Master in it. I have no clue what I will do when the time comes for a job, but we'll see when the time comes.

Where do your interests lie? Other than scaping of course haha.
Gaming overall is a pretty big interest of mine. But in the summertime I enjoy a long bicycle ride, feeling the warm sun on my skin and just thinking about absolutely nothing.

Describe your perfect day ^^
I'd wake up in a kingsize bed next to Katy Perry and Kate Upton, I'd be woken up by Morgan Freeman wishing me a good morning and a terrific day. Then I'd go downstairs where Jamie Oliver is preparing a superb breakfast for me and my darling ladies. After breakfast I'd head down to the set of The Walking Dead in Georgia and figure as a walker. I'd get all the signatures of the actors and actresses and then be on my way to a massive party with friends and celebrities in my penthouse in Miami.

Also do you play anything other than scape?
I play Starcraft II, Diablo III, Borderlands 2, Skyrim and GTA V. (Sometimes Assassin's Creed but that is mainly when I feel like playing a storyline.)

Do you afk runescape? If yes, what do you do at the same time while afking?
Whilst writing my answers I am actually afking Rocktails haha, I'm 95 Fishing and I wanna get it to 99 ASAP. But other than Fishing I mainly afk capping in the citadel or skills like Divination, Firemaking, Cooking and Woodcutting.

What's your fondest memories of playing this game?
Killing Jad. The adrenaline rush that went to my body was absolutely amazing, I never felt anything else like it haha. But then again the time when I got a draconic visage from an iron dragon was pretty amazing as well. I remember jumping out of my chair and screaming with my hands in the air like I just don't care.

What is your opinion on the current direction Runescape is heading?
I like that we get to vote for the content we're getting. But I do not like the way it's set up. Like if something would win with 1 vote more then it would win. It should be a big majority for huge updates which they neglect implementing. Content-wise though they're doing pretty amazing. The quests released this year have been mindblowing for me, absolutely top-notch quality. I just hope they live up to their promise of more quests per year, because that is something I enjoy doing in-game.

Wolfie
What is your favourite book?
Well this is probably going to sound like a cliché but I really, really, really enjoyed Harry Potter. I want to read the Game of Thrones books ( A song of Fire and Ice ) but they're kind of expensive for me atm.

Who is your favourite Walking Dead character?
Hershel was my favourite character, but now his head lies somewhere in a grassfield so it's pretty difficult to like him any more. I also like Michonne because she's filling a motherly role for Carl. Carl is pretty amazing as well, he's a little 13 year old badass, if I was that age I'd probably be dead or spent my time crying and being in fear in a Zombie Apocalypse. But Carl just doesn't care he freaking eats pudding and shoots walkers. But my absolute favourite character is Rick, he's a great leader, even though after Lori's death he went kind of insane in the membrane. I still enjoy watching him and I was pretty upset that we got to see so little of Rick in the second half of season 4.

What is your favourite colour?
Blueeee <3

What is your favourite questline?
Cave goblins, by far. It actually made me cry when Zanik and I looked back on our adventures. Every time I see Zanik in-game I immediately try to talk to her.

What is your favorite song?
It's super difficult for me to pick a favorite song. I have so many great songs in my mind.. I know it's cheap but I'll have to pass this question, I can't answer it. 1- icon biggrin.png

What is your favourite food?
I don't know if you guys have it in the places where you live, but I greatly enjoy shoarma, it's sheepmeat, Google it if you want to. Or order it, and eat it, and enjoy it, I know you will enjoy it, ENJOY IT ALREADY!

If you could visit anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I've spent a lot of time playing the Assassin's Creed games, so I'd love to visit Italy. I wanna walk around Rome and be like "Hey I've climbed that!" "Can I climb that as well?" "Hey I killed someone here." It'll be so wicked.

Miss Alaska
What do you like most about RuneScape?
Questing. Meeting new people, getting to know their stories, plot twists, boss fights, trials and I kinda miss training for quests.

Why do you leave meeeeeeee!!! Ahem, I mean why did you leave the clan?
I thought it was time to move on. Back in the day when I first joined I made so many arguments and fights with the nicest people. I've done so many terrible things in my days in this clan. I'm still amazed by the fact that you guys aren't disgusted of me at this point. I just can't move away from the things that have been said to me. I hope to take the things I learned from you guys and in my time being with you guys so I can make a better start somewhere else. But I'll always be here for you Alaska, you can just pm me if you want to and I'll be there! 1- icon biggrin.png

What's one thing you'd like to bring out of RuneScape and into real life?
Teleportation. I'd teleport to my crush her house everyday and sneakily lay down a rose in front of her door. Just to make her wonder "Who did that." Whilst she sniffs the rose.

What do you like to do for a laugh? (e.g. watch funny movies)
I'm mostly in Skype calls with my RL friends. We do the craziest stuff together, the other night me and 3 buddies were playing Magicka and we just kept blowing each other up, oh it was one of the best laughs I've had in ages. But when I'm alone I usually watch sitcoms like Scrubs and Friends. I also enjoy comedies like Dumb and Dumber, Scary movie and all those spoof movies like (Epic, Date, Disaster, Superhero) movie.

Who's your favourite fictional character?
Ron Weasley, he has the prophet as his best friend and Hermione as his wife, he's funny and he has an amazing family. I envy him but also adore him.

Manbearpig?
I'm super cereal Alaska please don't joke about manbearpig. EXCELSIOR!

Nicole Angel
Do you hate me?
I secretly love you, but don't tell anybody <3

What is your ideal breakfast?
Pancaaakessssss NOMMMMM!!

How are you doing in real life, anything you are looking forward to?
I'm doing amazing IRL. As I said before I'll have my exams in 3 weeks, so I'm kinda looking forward to that. So I can finally say that I achieved something in my life. 1- icon biggrin.png

What's Runescape like without Clan Quest?
I miss you guys... I really do... It's not the same any more and I kinda feel alone.. This other clan just judges each other on wealth and skill, every time I ask a question about PVMing they say I'm stupid or just ignore it. And when I level up nobody gratzes me.

I miss you
I miss you too Nicole, we should hang out soon, do some skilling together. You still need 99 Fishing right? We could do some rocktails together, could be fun!

What's an RS goal you are trying to achieve?
I'm desperately trying to max, I need about 46 levels till the max cape, most of them are buyables but I also have a few gathering skills left which should help me pay for the buyables. But then again I could also do some PVM'ing and get cash, that's also something I'm trying to achieve, to be better at PVM'ing because there is so much money out there to be made.

Will you visit once in a while?
I'll try to visit as much as I can. :)

Favourite movie and why?
The Dark Knight, I love Heath Ledger playing as the Joker in that movie. Absolutely stunning acting and it's a shame Heath Ledger is no longer among us. I also just like Batman a lot.

Fondest memories of CQ?
Tohtli's initiation to the High Council, I remember all the old clannies being there in white with quest capes. We'd all make screenshots together and we had a blast out there.

Fondest memories in RS?
Killing Jad, mostly beating hard bosses like Nomad. Completing Monkey Madness and Dungeoneering with Ytse and a few other clannies always was a blast.

If I could do one thing for you, what would it be?
PM me some more!! I feel so alone without Clan Quest D: I need to chat with you guys so I won't die whilst I get 99 Agility.

Thank you for letting us know more about the man behind the noob! Stick around as a guest in Clan Quest as long as you please, and may Zaros be with you during your finals!

1. Advanced Runecraft- Yellow wizards

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWFruSMMK9s

I found the guide quite extreme, but here are some good take aways, I included some of my tips.
1. Undead soul > Bloody Skull > Living Soul > Nebula/ Jumper > Skull > Blood Pool
2. Yellow wizard calls every 10 minutes, timer starts when you log in to a world at runespan.
3. Arrive at the yellow wizard about 1 minute before the call, but I don't find it necessary, just start moving when they call you.
4. If you're above 78 runecraft, give the best rune you can (provided you have 10 or more of it) to the yellow wizard.
5. You receive about 30k more runecraft experience per hour hunting yellow wizards. That is if you don't mind clicking a little.

Honestly I don't do this often because I keep running out of low level runes. If they point the yellow wizard too far, I wouldn't even bother, but if they are near I would get them.

This is just an alternative for those who wish to level up fast within a short amount of time, because if you want to grind a skill you might as well grind efficiently.

~!~ Wolf's movie picks ~!~
by Wolfie
***********

In my area it is randomly rotating between beautiful days and horrible days so I went out and stocked up on all the good movies I've been interested in over the past year or so that I haven't seen yet. The following is just my opinion of them and yours may differ but I'll try to do a good job explaining what caused me to form my opinions so you'll be able to tell if yours will match my own or not. Basically personal feelings are tricky and I'll do my best so don't freak out.

This is the End

I watched this movie because the crew here have made a lot of real winners like "Pineapple Express" and "30 Minutes or Less" that had me laughing the entire way through. Also for Emma Watson showing up. Sadly this movie only had one or two actual funny moments and was mostly a meta picture. In other words the main point of it seemed to be talking about all the stuff the actors have been in/created that was actually good. The second most important goal this movie set was to have a ton of stars and famous people randomly showing up and usually dying in at least semi funny ways. Last on the importance list of this movie was apparently to be a movie because only after all the perks were out of the way did anything related to what the movie was about happen, which was the world ending.

This movie is intended to be a parody of all the apocalypse movies that have been popping up lately. Except parodies are supposed to be funny and for a comedy I sure didn't laugh at many of the jokes at all. Compared to the other movies this cast has starred in that had me laughing the entire time I laughed maybe 2 or 3 times in this movie. The "humor" is definitely for an older audience. Overall I would give this movie a 1/10. Really dissapointing considering I really enjoyed previous works using this cast.

Kick-Ass 2

Short review: If you enjoyed the first one you will enjoy this one as well. Longer review: This movie extends the events of the previous one nicely. The same as the first one it uses a lot of colorful language and there is tons of bloodshed and fighting. In this film we see Hitgirl and KickButt grown up a bit and how they have changed as a result. Not to mention all the new "super" heroes running all over the city. Sadly the villain is incredibly hard to take seriously but luckily his followers are really horrible and quickly make things feel serious again. The quality of the movie is good other than one scene on top of a car that had incredibly bad cgi. And I am super excited about something that happens at the end of the movie. Overall 7/10 a must watch if you enjoyed the first.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2

Excellent all ages movie. I laughed a good bit during this one and the stupid strawberry is absolutely adorable. Also it is wonderful to see that the characters were kept the same, normally it seems like the love interest always changes each movie. I love that actual progress was made on a relationship as well. So many all ages shows just keep stringing you on forever, even some of the adult ones and that is super frustrating. Overall if you think food animals are funny you will definitely love this movie and it isn't hard to pick up even if you skip the first. I give it an 8/10.

Captain America 2

Full disclosure: I was not a big fan of the first Captain America movie. I liked how it really showed the WW2 era setting off but it took soooo long to get interesting and even then the bad guys were ridiculous and I just couldn't take them seriously. The Nazi soldiers though were very serious badguys. Anyways the main reason I watched the second Captain America was because I didn't want to miss anything that might be important in the second Avengers movie. (Like the introduction of some new Avengers!) So I went in not expecting much and I was surprised how good the movie was! This movie is basically Avengers 1.5 or a mini Avengers movie between the first and second. Nick Fury, Robin from how I met your mother (lol), Blackwidow, and 2 new Avengers participate in this adventure. And the after-credits scene ties in something important from not only the first Avengers but also X-men! Which is fantastic because The Amazing Spiderman 2 in the after-credits had a scene linking it to X-men as well! This means we may be looking at a Spiderman, X-men, Avengers mashup! The actual movie itself had some really great moments in it and we see more of those epic flying hover ships from the first Avengers. This movie was really good but honestly I'm most excited for what it set us up for next. I give Captain America 2 a 7/10.

May 2014 011.jpg
The Wind Rises

This movie is the final work of Hayao Miyazaki who is the co-founder of Studio Gibli and is the Japanese version Walt Disney without all the scandal. Everything Hayao touches has amazing flying scenes in it at some point so I am completely unsurprised that this film is about an airplane designer. Also featured in the movie is his love interest and I can honestly say I have never had such a simple story touch me so deeply. I was truly moved watching this movie. 10/10

Also the movie is set in WW2 Japan so it shows a bit of what things were like when Japan was allied with Germany which was a very dark time for Japan and honestly many Japanese were not happy about it yet Hayao went along with it anyways because it is his final work and he didn't have to care about the fallout. The only fault I could find for this movie is that it is a bit fast paced. I'm confident this movie will be looked back on and labeled a classic.

May 2014 012.jpg
The Amazing Spiderman 2

I would have left the theater after the ending of the first movie had there been anything after it but the movie was already over so there was nothing to walk out on. Spoilers: Spiderman promises his girlfriend's dying dad that he will stay away from her because being near him puts her in danger. Then at the end he is seen hanging out with her and says simply "some promises were made to be broken". Completely ruined Spiderman as a superhero for me. If he "loved" her shouldn't he protect her? Playing with giant killer lizards has a price and that price is you don't let your girlfriend get near the giant killer lizards! Sure it isn't like there is much of a choice, either fight the bad stuff or let the whole city die or something but the fact is if he doesn't have the power to protect the city and his gf at the same time he needs to pick one.

Anyways Spiderman 2 really sets that situation to rights directly off the bat. It does a good job showing how while he might have been a complete tool at the end of the first movie how he really struggles with the situation and his girlfriend's feelings. The movie has a comic book feel to it though so it is hard to take it seriously in live action. If you haven't seen the trailer or read the comics minor spoiler here: The bad guy clearly has some kind of mental disability and is only bad because of a misunderstanding. I honestly don't know how I feel about scumbag spiderman beating on a mentally handicapped bad guy. This movie is all kinds of strange but the action scenes are awesome and the characters really shine. Other than hating Spiderman this movie was really good. I give it a 7/10.

May 2014 013.png
The Wolf of Wall street

This movie definitely goes beyond an "R" rating and should be on the same level as an adult film. It has excessive cursing, drug use, crime, adult activity, and a good bit of violence. If you are okay with those adult themes then I HIGHLY recommend watching this film. Especially if you are in your late teens or early twenties and wondering what to do with your life. This movie is not only entertaining and tells a great story but it also has a ton of moral lessons. It shows that while bad things can be fun they also carry a huge risk and if you lead an abusive lifestyle no matter how high you climb one day that risk will catch up to you.

It also shows what it is like when you commit a crime and are worth 20 million dollar versus when you commit a crime and are worth 20 dollars. The difference in the treatment of rich criminals is something that is a really important social issue and I love the way this movie calls attention to it. I would give this movie a 10/10 but this movie shows way more adult content than is necessary and that really takes away from appreciating the movie as any kind of lesson teaching experience or even enjoying it at times so I'll give it a 6/10.

May 2014 014.jpg
Man of Steel

I think perhaps this may be the best Superman movie to date, and I for one am glad that Superman at last has adapted to earth culture enough to know underwear go inside the pants! However this movie upsets me greatly in the same way the last Star Trek movie upset me. (minor poilers for both to follow if you read the Superman comics/watch the tv shows) Spock has one thing he NEVER does and in the last Star Trek movie he did it TWICE. The movie basically was showing that this Spock is not "our Spock" and they will do whatever they want with him. Superman also has a character trait he has sworn to never violate and no matter how bad things have ever gotten for him or how tempted he has been he has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS steadfastly sworn to never do something. And sure enough in his first movie he does the thing he has always sworn to never do. In my opinion that makes him not Superman but some other character just ripping him off.

The movie also has a good few plotholes in it. (Why Earth, why not mars? Why a full turn when a partial turn would have done the trick?) Other than the plotholes and completely destroying Superman's trademark virtue the characters are spot on and fit really well. I also like how they got around the "omg he has glasses on now there is no way we can recognize him" stupidity. The fighting and actions scenes are first rate and you really feel a sense of urgency. This movie came really close to being a perfect Superman movie but dropped the ball when they violated Superman's character and didn't think the plot through fully. I give it a 7/10 because unless you are a Superman fanatic you probably won't care they changed his core character virtue.

Monsters University

This movie does a fantastic job of not losing any of the greatness of the original. It is funny and it has an important story to tell. It teaches the value of hardwork and strategy and that natural talent or lack there of is only one of many factors in success. Also it highlights the importance of good friendships and teamwork. It even teaches that just because you can't do what you want that doesn't mean you have to give up on your dreams. The very end of this movie even shows that you generally don't just walk in and get your dream job but you take what is available and work your way up. When these two work their way up they don't feel as if they are wasting their lives they just see it as another step in the journey to doing what they love and enjoy it. I feel that is perhaps the most important lesson the film has to teach and it is just done with a few pictures and no words at the very end. Honestly this movie is enjoyable for all ages and teaches some very important lessons. 9/10.

May 2014 016.png
Carrie

I'm a HUGE Chloe Moretz fan(She flips a balisong better than I can, and has awesome taste in what movies she stars in) so even though I wasn't a fan of the original Carrie so I gave this a shot. The original is 38 years old now and the "big reveal" is on the cover of the box the movie comes in so I'm not going to bother with being concerned about plot spoilers. Basically a girl has super powers and is bullied to the point where she snaps and goes on a rampage. Let me just say that the awkward and shy to pure butt kicking and psychotic swing Carrie has is phenomenal! (Those happen to be my two favorite types of girl) While the movie may be creepy (The mom gives me the willies) and teaching people it is okay to mass murder bullies is also not okay the movie does have one decent lesson for people to take away from it. If you are in a position of power be it popularity for peer influence or a staff member you should reach out to troubled people because it may make their crappy lives considerably better, or at the very least they will spare you when they start the massacre. I really liked this movie but I wouldn't call it horror... I would say "Tragedy" is probably the best genre for it like a Shakespearean play. 8/10.

The Conjuring

Based on the preview to this movie I thought it was about some kind of ghost haunting a house which was a misleading impression. This movie starts out by setting the record straight. It is actually about a demon and the people it haunts and these idiotic investigators that go out like "oh boy I hope this is a real thing that can kill us horribly". Also I made a survival guide awhile ago and one of the first few rules was: "Never trust a disembodied voice or anything you can't see that interacts with you". This movie really shows how if that were ever to happen in real life it would be a good rule to follow. It is your basic horror movie but as horror movies are notoriously low budget because they don't get many views the special effects are usually horrible but in this case the movie does an excellent job compensating for that by using low tech scare tactics. That return to the basics but making it work in modern day film making is what interested me in this movie. It reminds me of a time when horror movies were scary and not just an excuse to abuse cgi or show people getting naked or so stupid they are funny. Although I have to admit it is hard to take the doll seriously.

And what kind of idiot has children and keeps a room full of cursed items and haunted junk? Why don't you just live next to a gunpowder factory and keep a room full of loaded bazookas? The concept on this movie is just far too set up and the characters are clearly begging for something to go horribly horribly wrong. So it is no surprise when something actually happens to these morons. So while the plot doesn't give you any feelings of sympathy for the characters and when bad things happen to them you can't help but think "well duh" the scares in this movie are still pretty good. I give it a 6/10 on the "Don't open that door!" scale.

~ ! ~ RECIPE FOR MAY ~ ! ~
by Konnan
*******************

Since May is the month for planting gardens, I thought this dessert recipe might be fun.

MUD AND WORMS

May 2014 030.png
~!~

Original recipe makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

12 chocolate cream-filled sandwich cookies
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 (3 ounce) package gummy worms candy

~!~

Directions:

1.Place the chocolate sandwich cookies into a resealable plastic zipper bag, and crush with a rolling pin into crumbs. For a more mudlike appearance, untwist the cookies and scrape off the creme filling before crushing cookies.

2.Whisk together the chocolate pudding mix with the milk in a bowl, stirring for 2 minutes. Sprinkle about 1/3 of the crushed sandwich cookie crumbs into the bottom of a serving bowl, and spoon the chocolate pudding over the crumbs. Smooth out the top of the pudding, then top with the rest of the chocolate cookie crumbs to resemble dirt. Poke gummy worms halfway into the dirt. Refrigerate until serving.
