Bulletin - July 2020

Hello fellow Clan Questers,

In this month’s bulletin I want to talk about our newest guild, the continuation of our wonderful events, and how you can get involved in Clan Quest. One of the most important aspects of Clan Quest is knowing that almost anything can happen. And, if you want something to happen, there’s a very good chance that you can make your goals reality.

A brand new guild:
This month we officially welcome our fourth (four everyone!) guild to the Clan Quest family. This guild is the RuneScape 3 Ironman guild, otherwise known as Iron Quest. The guild is headed up by Shiro Shana, Derparnieux, and Idiotonastic. The RuneScape 3 Guild encourages its members to guest in the Iron Quest clan chat if possible.

Iron Quest is just starting out so if you have an Ironman character, please give them a look. You can apply on the RuneScape Official Forums for their guild here. Please join me in wishing them well and all the success as they build out our fourth guild.

New and ongoing clan events:
One of the most important things about our community is sharing time with one another. Questcaping has continued to host weekend RuneScape 3 events that vary and draw an impressive crowd. If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday or Sunday, check the #events Discord channel. Cireon is also hosting a pub night trivia session on July 2nd. And if it goes well, there will be more!

This past month was also Pride month and Ytse hosted a clue scroll bingo event. Clan Quest’s clue hunters came out in force with some predictable outcomes. The reason I mention Ytse’s bingo aside from being a wonderful month long event celebrating Pride is that as an inclusive community we now have a profile field for preferred pronouns. These can be set here.

Keeping up the good work:
It also wouldn’t be a Clan Quest bulletin without me highlighting the work going on behind the scenes to update content on our wiki. The wiki is the place to go if you need to look up that tidbit of Clan Quest history, look up some form of policy, or if you just want to make your own wiki page. Wiki pages are a great way to advertise yourself and let clan members get to know you.

But, there are tons of pages. Draziw and Sirapyro are always looking for hands that are willing to help update these pages. If you think that’s you or you just have an idea of something you want to create (a guide perhaps?) just reach out to them. Wiki content is king and they’re the ones you want to talk to about it.

With that being said, we’ll be back next month with some more Clan Quest news and updates on what’s happening in our community.

Take care!
~Shane for Clan Council

Article by Shane

It's no news that we have a new guild, so I'll skip that part. As per usual, this section introduces the new heads of council for the newborn guild. Let me present you to:

Shiro_Shana, head of the Iron Quest Guild Council

Hoods,

Shiro Shana here to tell you about Clan Quest’s latest guild, The Runescape Ironman Guild. Or how we like to call us: Iron Quest. My ironman account (Yui Yua) is quite old, but I’ve always played it on and off. Mainly because I had not many people to play with. People assume the way of iron is a solo thing, but it’s actually not. A lot of important content is locked behind pvm content, which you can only do with fellow ironmen/ironwomen. So, in the main Runescape Guild many members decided to create an ironman alt account. I asked around and people liked the idea of creating our own Clan Quest guild, so here we are. Besides a minor bug from Jagex that prevented us from creating the clan, everything’s going quite smoothly and I can proudly announce that together with my fellow Guild Councillors Derpironieux and Ldiotonastic the guild has officially been created on the first of June 2020.

So, as a new head of Guild Council it’s tradition I talk a bit about myself. Many of you know me as a pyromaniac, the weird guy at Runefest with the Santa hat and part of the Dutch Delegation. I’m 26 by the time you read this and still a true follower of the Hood. I’m studying Mathematics at the University of Utrecht. Besides Runescape and uni stuff I play the trombone.

To everyone, everyone’s welcome to guest in our cc. If you want to start an ironman alt, we’re very happy to have you. There’s no time like today to start a new adventure. Hope to see you all in-game or on discord. Stay healthy and take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Derparnieux, head of the Iron Quest Honour Council

Hoods clannies,

My name is Derp, and I’m the Head of Honor Council for the new RS3 Ironman Guild. Most of you know me as that one dude that’s obsessed with clues or has stupidly good RNG on basically everything, but I’ve also recently started playing on a Hardcore Ironman, and that’s turned out to be really fun. In May of this year, the idea came up in the Clan Quest clan chat to unite all of the RS3 Ironmen in Clan Quest under one banner, and quite a number of people seemed to like this idea; hence, on the first of June, Iron Quest was born.Shiro asked me to come on board as a Guild Councillor and as the Head of Honor Council, and as most of you know, I’m incapable of refusing Shiro anything, so that’s what happened. I’m also saying this fully counting on the fact that Shiro won’t read this speech, because he’d definitely use me saying this against me. I reckon I could provide someinteresting tidbits of information about the person behind the monitor as well. In a surprising turn of events, my name in real life isn’t Derp –it’s Tom. I’m a representative of the Dutch delegation in Clan Quest, I’ve recently turned 22, and I’m currently studying mathematics. Also, I’m not a particular fan of long and personal speeches, so I suppose I’ll keep it at that. Rest assured, my door’s always open if you need anything from me or if you just want to have a chat about something. Unhoods,

Derp

July 2020 006.jpg

On the eastern coast of Morytania just south of Port Phastmatys lies a small town by the name of Slepe. A plague of ages past (for which the town was named) has made a resurgence. Citizens throughout the town have begun to fall into a deep and irreversible sleep!

Fortunately for the people of Slepe, the Myreque are on the case. They suspect vampyres are behind it all, and have recruited the help of a couple of Gielinor’s most renown Myreque heroes to get to the bottom of it. I’m referring, of course, to none other than the seasoned vampyre slayers themselves; the ones who saved (and occasionally endangered) citizens of Morytania on multiple occasions and vanquished the late Ranis Drakan: Sk8r_Dan_Man and Francine1225!

July 2020 007.jpg

On June 4th the latest quest, Sins of the Father was released for Old School Runescape. Fran and I were quick to get started on it and earn the right to wear our quest point capes once again. This quest takes place primarily in the southeastern region of Morytania and is the last in the Myreque series. It deals with Lord Lowerniel Drakan who rules Morytania from his seat of power in the vampyre city of Darkmeyer. The Myreque are preparing their final push to put a stop to his tyranny once and for all.

I’ll be careful to avoid any serious spoilers here with my review. Overall I’d say it’s a pretty great quest. It took us about 5 hours of play time to complete, from beginning to end. Well, one of us anyway. Fran still has yet to finish it.

Although it took a good amount of time, it didn’t feel that long. There weren’t large amounts of time spent on tedious puzzles or traveling by foot to remote locations. Transitions between locales are pretty fluid and well paced.

July 2020 008.jpg

If you want to be even faster getting around, it’s useful to have Morytania Legs 3 or better for infinite teleports to Burgh de Rott, or alternatively you can resort to the minigame teleport to Shades of Morton as needed. Most everything you need during the quest is either conveniently accessible during the quest, or is the sort of item you’re likely to have in your bank.

Hopefully you’ve also still got your old vampyre slaying equipment from previous Myreque quests stored away in your bank, because you’ll need that too. Although the quest journal does not mention combat with any higher level monsters as a prerequisite, you can expect multiple occasions where you’ll have to face enemies (including vampyres) well over level 100 combat. The ending culminates with a moderately difficult boss fight against a high level bad guy, which Fran hasn’t done yet. You’ll always have an opportunity to prepare though, so you’re free to wear your preferred fashion-scape though most of the quest.

From an artistic perspective, I have to applaud JaGex for their work. In some other new quests/content for OSRS they’ve demonstrated that they’re capable of producing much flashier animations and modeling with high poly-count and a wide color palette, but that can stick out like a sore thumb amongst the simpler art style present throughout OSRS. They haven’t made the same mistake with Sins of the Father.

July 2020 009.jpg

The structures in the upper districts of Darkmeyer are ornate, but not ostentatious. The new character models and animations for vampyre nobles are powerful and elegant without being too flashy. Throughout the new content feels like it fits well with the existing art style of OSRS, and their restraint has not gone un-appreciated. The grand reveal of Lord Lowerniel Drakan himself at the end is very cool, but Fran wouldn’t know about that since she’s not finished it yet.

Beyond all that, where I think the quest really shines is in the story. Much of the quest’s value is found in the dialogue, full of exposition and plot twists. There’s a lot to be gained from immersing yourself in the conversations with NPCs. Fran and I usually take turns voice acting characters aloud as we go through quests, and I think that went a long way towards bringing the story alive for us. I especially enjoyed voicing Vanescula Drakan with a thick Slavic accent. I suggest trying it for yourself to enrich the experience.

July 2020 010.jpg

Once you’ve finished the quest, unlike Fran, you’ll gain access to the new content in Darkmeyer. There are new high level vampyres to slay, and vyres to pickpocket. There’s the daeyalt essence mine which is used for a new method of training Runecraft, and the Darkmeyer seamstress who can help you blend in with vampyre nobility and up your fashion-scape game. And lets not forget the biggest new addition: the Hallowed Sepulchre. It’s a new activity themed primarily around agility, and with a variety of cool new rewards like the Ring of Endurance which amplifies the effects of stamina potions.

Of course, the best reward is the ability to wear the quest point cape again.

Did I mention Fran hasn’t finished the quest yet?

So what is the cover all about?

July 2020 011.jpg

the what, where, who, why and how

The Gower brothers, Andrew, Paul and Ian were born and raised in Nottingham, England. They grew up playing video games and Andrew says he started programming at age 7. They first started programming games for Atari, 3D, 1st shooter games, then onto Java games. Most of their games were on the website Games Domain. Games Domain was a video game website founded by Dave Stanworth and based in Birmingham, UK. Some of the games were Battle Cruisers, Cyber Wars, Dungeon Explorer, Games Domain Castle, Mahjong, Quad-Link, Mystery Monster, Pairs and Treasure Crypt. Games Domain after being sold a few times, ended up being owned by Yahoo. Once this happened, all the Gower brothers’ games were removed. Later Andrew developed 2 games for AtariST; Parallax Painter (1995) and Destruction Imminent (1996).

July 2020 012.jpg

He first discovered the idea of RuneScape while playing Pacman. He attended The Becket School and then went to Cambridge University. While attending Cambridge, Andrew, Paul and Constant Tedder co-founded Jagex Games Studio. Jagex came from the original slogan "Java Gaming Experts" as they were the only developers that had a game written in Java. He then created an isometric RPG, again in Java, called DeviousMUD. **dingdingding*

July 2020 013.jpg

The cover is the original pre-runescape map drawn by Andrew. In 2001, the original Runescape (better known as Runescape Classic) was created from a similar idea, except in MMORPG. This original game was kept online until August, 2018 on a limited basis. Until the release of War of Legends in 2010, the company used the slogan "Java Gaming Experts" as it had only produced games written in Java up to that point. Following the launch of the Flash-based War of Legends, the company name was said to stand for "Just About the Game Experience".

With the help of their company, Jagex, a complete rewrite was completed in 2004. This was named Runescape 2, but more commonly known as Runescape. Along with brothers Paul and Ian, he developed most of the early game, including its skills and areas.

RuneScape grew dramatically; one year after its release over a million free accounts had been registered. The game was originally supported by advertisements, however, the Dot-com bubble meant that there were fewer advertisers willing or able to sign with Jagex. One of the first tasks of the new company was to create a paid version of the game with extra features, to support hosting costs and continued development. This was achieved on 27 February 2002 when the pay-to-play version of RuneScape was released. It gained 5,000 subscribers in the first week, making it one of the largest Java pay-to-play games in the world at the time.

He may also have developed Bounty Worlds, having signed their news post. In 2009 and 2010, he was also heavily involved with the design of Dungeoneering.

In December 2010, Andrew left the Jagex board of directors. During 2011, he was the principal architect of Jagex. In November of 2011, he was removed from the RuneScape credits and no longer had any holdings in Jagex. This caused some controversy among some users, with players believing that he should be credited for creating the original game. However, since the end of 2012, a name appeared in the credits for RuneScape under the game engine team - "Andrew G". (yeah members!)

In addition to RuneScape, Jagex has released multiple casual games on its FunOrb portal, as well as other titles. Jagex was owned by U.S. investors between 2012 and 2016, by Chinese investors from 2016-2020, and is currently owned by a global asset management company.

In 2016, Runescape announces a new special anniversary quest.

July 2020 014.jpg

THEY’RE BACK! ORIGINAL RUNESCAPE DEVS RETURN FOR ANNIVERSARY QUEST, GOWER QUEST!

Fifteen years after they created RuneScape, the original trio of brothers – Andrew, Paul, and Ian Gower – have returned to the world of Gielinor with a new quest as part of the game’s year-long anniversary celebrations. Dubbed, somewhat inevitably, Gower Quest, the new mission sees players uncover the mystery of the disappearing cabbages for three familiar looking cabbage mages. Packed with nods and winks to vintage RuneScape memes and jokes, Gower Quest is a fond love letter from the game’s creators.

A free-to-play quest that enables the broadest range of players to experience the adventure and celebrate the game’s past and future successes, Gower Quest will take players through cabbage fields and beyond as they experience a tale that will warm the very cockles of their hearts. Featuring new rewards, including a brand new god sword forged in the name of the cabbage god, Brassica Prime, Gower Quest is like no other RuneScape quest!

“Bringing back the three brothers to help design a celebratory quest was simply fantastic, and we’re already seeing players contact us saying how nostalgic and wonderful Gower Quest is for them,” said David Osborne, lead designer, RuneScape. “We’re grateful to Andrew, Paul, and Ian for returning to RuneScape for one more occasion and being guest designers on the quest. Fifteen years is a phenomenal milestone to reach, so few MMORPGs have ever reached it, and fewer still while experiencing a resurgence in player numbers!”

July 2020 015.jpg

“Without the Gowers, we would not have RuneScape and there would be no Jagex, so we were thrilled when they agreed to return to Jagex as guest quest designers for this celebratory adventure,” said Mark Ogilvie, design director, RuneScape. “I’ve been working on RuneScape for 14 years now, and I have many, many fond memories of working at the near-dawn of Gielinor and its lore. This quest harks back and pays homage to some key events and characters from across the history of RuneScape, and is the perfect way to celebrate its milestone anniversary.”

Currently, Andrew is working on a new company, Fen Research Ltd, which he founded in 2010. According to the company website, they're working on a new online game, containing a new programming language.

Fenforge is a game engine and programming language which is designed to make the development of online multiplayer games quicker, easier, and less error prone.

It is generally a rule that the more flexible an engine is, the less it can do automatically, and the more you have to write yourself. We have many years of experience creating multiplayer games, and have long had the dream of defying this rule, and coming up with a way of representing and processing a multiplayer game that is easy, general purpose, and efficient all at the same time! For a long time this just seemed impossible, but after many years of trying, and a few dead ends, we have finally come up with a solution that really works!

Shood, noobs! Questcaping here!

You may or may not be aware of the RS3 Minigame Events that have been happening every weekend for the past couple of months (wow, has it been that long already?) -- and if not, here I am to give you the lowdown of what's been going on!

Saturday, May 23rd: CASTLE WARS

July 2020 025.png

Castle Wars is one of RuneScape's most popular minigames, and with good reason! Games rarely get the attendance that they used to, but with eighteen total accounts present at this event, I reckon we did a pretty good job at recapturing some of that good old-fashioned castle carnage.

We played four games in total, with three Saradominist victories and one final Zamorakian. (Unfortunately, every single time, the winner was the team I wasn't on...!) Lady Klaw and Ytse proved themselves unstoppable, successful catapult usage surprised everyone, and voice chat was alive with intense debate about what exactly you do with those bandages. (The eventual consensus was "eat them". Some weird French snack?)

Between games, people would run off to make Castle Wars braces, while back at the lobby, Ytse held impromptu small-scale treasure hunt events and ViNightshade would host mini-events of his own. (Events within events? How many levels deep does this go?)

Clan Quest attendees were: 1ryb, Borosouro, Earendil20, Lady Klaw, Lady_Terelle, Idiotonastic (and alt ldiotonastic), Of Herblaw, Questcaping, Robbe, Stinkypete22, ViNightshade and Ytse. Additional non-clannie attendees were Awowogei, Devstruction (with alt Devzskills), Hikki x_x and Sick Love.

Sunday, May 24th: PEST CONTROL

"Be a winner, kill a spinner" -- Thaxy, 2020

Another classic -- what a weekend!

Several intense games were played on the veteran lander, most (but not all) of which were victorious! Something that didn't help with that was the landers' tendency to ship off a small group (Team A) first, leaving the others (Team B) to wait behind...! Much transmog shenaniganry on the landers, as always -- it's a fine tradition being formed there.

We worked for (and obtained!) an achievement: A-Voiding Conflict (win a Pest Control game after repairing all barricades to full). We also filled in some missing information on the RS Wiki, noting down combat levels for the pests that hadn't yet been recorded -- good work!

Thank you to clannies 1ryb, Borosouro, Earendil20, Idiotonastic (with alt ldiotonastic), Lady_Terelle, Lord Earth, Pony Picker, Questcaping, RivLock, Santa Ends, Thaxy, ViNightshade, Wolffi and Ytse, plus non-clannies Choncc and They Them! (Seventeen people :O )

Also, Earth failed Tower Safety 101.

July 2020 026.png

Saturday, May 30th: CLAN WARS

(The screenshots I took from this one seem to have gone AWOL, but rest assured: it happened!)

Originally planned as a game of Paw.fia vs. Hoods (using accounts ThePaw.fia and HoodianFaith), under Idiot's leadership, the Paw.fian faction became Wards! So in these deadly games of Hoods versus Wards, the ultimate winner was...

... well, we lost count. But we had a good time anyway.

Starting out on EoC and later switching to Legacy Mode (for some good old-fashioned ice barraging!), we spent a good while experimenting on various maps (Turrets map best map) and mercilessly slaughtering the hell out of each other. On voice chat, Idiot could be heard in constant command of his team -- yes, sir!

Attendees included myself, Cortey, Idiotonastic, Iskh, Shiro Shana, TheFireBro... aaaaand a few other people. Plus AlphaLeo spectating! (And proclaiming afterwards to have won every match. gz leo)

Sunday, May 24th: FISHING TRAWLER

ARE YA READY, KIDS?

AYE AYE, CAPTAIN!

July 2020 027.png

Wise words from Swmartijn.

We had a whale of a time at Fishing Trawler! Nautical fashionscapes and obligatory piratical parlay were in play, as we first went for our "eight leaks in the hull and survive" achievement, then scrambled to get as many fish as we could on future voyages. Our crew was well-organised, later on keeping a single matey on deck to keep an eye on the net -- not a single fish missed on our voyages, ya landlubbers!

Our crew consisted of Aearil, Borosouro, De lta, Pop O, Questcaping, Swmartijn and TzTok Rex. Special shout-out to Boro, who after many long ocean voyages, finally earned his shark tooth necklace -- quite the achievement, requiring a good deal of trawling, so a hearty congratulations to him!

Saturday, June 6th: SOUL WARS

Our first successful Soul Wars event (given that the last fell on DXP)! We played two games: one "collab run" in which we played peacefully in order to get the "offer 100 frags to the obelisk at once" achievement... and one regular game of all-out slaughter >:)

July 2020 028.jpg

I was barely able to be present on account of various technical issues, but I have it on good authority that Shane got killed. A lot.

Attendees were: Aearil, Idiotonastic (and alt ldiotonastic), iiDefend, Iskh (and alt HardIskh), Lady_Terelle, Questcaping, Shane12088, Soap Rhyme, Thaxy, Weisenheimer, and Ytse. Thirteen accounts in total!

Sunday, June 7th: FLASH POWDER FACTORY

While FPF may be more of a "free for all" minigame than a team one, that doesn't mean clannies can't talk strategy between rounds! Everyone in attendance was either completely new or nearly new to the minigame -- including myself, I'd never even played before we started doing these minigame events! The little slivers of downtime between games were the perfect opportunity for those slightly more experienced to give guidance and tips to those who'd never done it before. Our own little clan-based tutorial.

(Cortey was doing the best out of all of us, and pointed out a good few things that I hadn't even noticed on my previous runs. Thanks!)

Attendees were 1ryb, Cortey, evilphan and Questcaping.

July 2020 030.png

Saturday, June 13th: CABBAGE FACEPUNCH BONANZA

Monkey madness!

We had a lot of fun with this one, even in the lobby: what better place for the fine tradition of cabbagebombing? With a few monkeys in the mix, just for the sake of it. The Ring of Cabbage complicates matters, though: which of these are cabbages and which are merely players in disguise? Make your guess! (the prize is a cabbage)

July 2020 031.jpg

We had Pop and spleewizard come along after a long day of hosting PvM events, plus an active voice chat involving in-depth discussion of gorilla spleens. Because CFB is just that kind of game.

Attendees were 1ryb, evilphan, Giovanig, HardIskh, Pop O, Questcaping, Robbe, Weisenheimer and Ytse, plus clan guest spleewizard.

Sunday, June 14th: HEIST

First time it's come up on our minigame rotation, and it made quite the debut! We played mostly 2v2 games, managing one 3v3, and oh man, there sure were some intense chase sequences (I somehow managed to make 10% run energy last a good long while -- long enough to be a tough target to chase down!) and some not-so-intense ones (like that one time Hemsky didn't find a transmog fast enough and got caught pretty much immediately. gj)

We even managed an aquatic chase, by the rocky seaside cliffs that Burthorpe... doesn't actually have outside Heist:

July 2020 032.png

These games of Heist were a first for at least a couple of the day's attendees, but people got the hang of it quickly. There were a good few cases of hapless guards watching loot disappear before their eyes, with no clue who was doing the disappearing -- and conversely, guards nabbing people the instant they even looked at something shiny.

(Or just randomly accusing and actually getting it right, every now and then. Not exactly the recommended strategy, but hey -- if it works, it works!)

Attendees were 1ryb, Borosouro, Cortey, Hemsky, Ques ter and Questcaping. Oh hey, I get to be the last alphabetically on one of these lists for once.

Saturday, June 20th: CASTLE WARS, FIST OF GUTHIX AND BURTHORPE GAMES ROOM

An absolute marathon of events! I bowed out three hours in -- at which point some of the participants were still going strong!

We started out with a single game of Castle Wars -- 2v2, which certainly changes the dynamic of it. Lot of coordination required with your team partner. I was working with 1ryb, having agreed on a loose arrangement of him on offence and me on defence... though naturally, that varied over the course of the game. Cortey and Shiro Shana seemed to work as more of a unified front, making joint grabs for our flag -- or having one teammate serve as a distraction! (With mixed success. I saw you trying to hide that flag, Shiro. Good try :P )

After a single game, we switched over to Fist of Guthix: as a 1v1 PvP minigame, it's much more suited to smaller player counts. We'd all played before, though with mixed experience. Shiro in particular could show off a rating of over 4k! Luckily, my one matchup against him had him as the hunted first, and his hiding there taught me some excellent tips for when the tables were turned and he had me on the run. (Hot new Shiro-stolen tip: try to keep one of the houses between yourself and the attacker. Make the most of RuneScape's weird pathfinding!)

Pictured: tactics in play, plus Shiro's excellent choice of familiar -- THE DREADED COMBAT MEERKAT (times two!)

July 2020 033.jpg

Cortey left after a few games, at which point we switched over to the Burthorpe Games Room on Shiro's suggestion. Several games (of every kind the Games Room has to offer) were played, on a rota of two of us playing and one of us spectating -- though Shiro did have to leave eventually, Borosouro jumped in to fill that spot not long later. And believe me -- he's good!

Also, I bought up the barmaids' entire drink supply and got super in-game drunk.

(Attendees were myself, 1ryb, Borosouro, Cortey, and Shiro Shana.)

July 2020 034.png

Sunday, June 21st: TROUBLE BREWING

"Flower run" -- Questcaping, 2020 (probably a lot more times than necessary)

I gotta admit, I'm biased here: Trouble Brewing is my favourite minigame of all time. But there's a good reason for that: it's FUN!

Pirate voices out, tricorns and bandanas on! With a good mixture of seasoned seadogs and fresh young sailors, we managed three games -- producing copious quantities of classic Mos'le Harmless 'rum'. (The final score in the last game was 15-9 -- more 'rum' than I've seen in a good while!)

Defend was a little late to the first one, but contributed anyway by standing at the fence by the Red Team's base, making bad jokes. An excellent service provided.

July 2020 035.png

... and once he did manage to join, he proceeded to head upstairs in my base and start burning the place down. A not-so-excellent service D:

Also, note to self: when there's a grand total of one minute left in the game, you probably don't need to be doing any more flower runs.

Thanks to all attendees: 1ryb, Borosouro, bulbazard, iiDefend, Lady_Terelle, Ques ter, Questcaping, Santa Ends and TheFireBro!

July 2020 036.jpg

That's all for now! Lots more minigame events upcoming, as always. The provisional schedule for the next month is:

Saturday, June 28th (9pm UTC): SOUL WARS
Sunday, June 29th (4pm UTC): DEATHMATCH

Saturday, July 4th (9pm UTC): BARBARIAN ASSAULT
Sunday, July 5th (4pm UTC): CONQUEST

Saturday, July 11th (9pm UTC): THE GREAT ORB PROJECT
Sunday, July 12th (4pm UTC): SHIFTING TOMBS

Saturday, July 18th (9pm UTC): STEALING CREATION
Sunday, July 19th (4pm UTC): PEST CONTROL

Saturday, July 25th (9pm UTC): CABBAGE FACEPUNCH BONANZA
Sunday, June 29th (4pm UTC): HEIST

Hope to see you there!

You are not seeing things, we are actually back!! And this month we’ve had two nominations: Cortey, and a collective one for Questcaping, Idiotonastic and Pop O

"Questcaping" wrote:

Since we're doing these again, I'd like to mention Cortey: at last Sunday's Flash Powder Factory event, Cortey (despite being relatively new to the minigame) was consistently helping new players (and relatively new ones, such as myself) with how to play and various tips to get points faster -- thank you!

"Shiro_Shana" wrote:

I wanna add: + Questcaping for hosting events on weekly base
+ Idiotonastic for hosting almost daily pvm events
+ Pop o for helping a lot of people with pvm setups and co-hosting raids and aod

The Masters of RAWR chose a winner, and that is...

-----|-----

Wait a second... -You may say- What are the RAWR Awards??

Check this link!

PS: Please remember no clannie is better than other just because they won a RAWR edition. You're already a winner if you made it to this thread, because it means you care about others and make our clan a better place every day. Congratulations to Cortey, Questcaping, Idiotonastic and Pop O. See you next month!

Lots of Forum excitement going on...some new and some renewed.
July 2020 038.jpg

Hoods clannies,

Around two years ago, I hosted what I dubbed Derp's Game of Clues. In it, whenever I reached a certain milestone amount for clues, I would give away some money to one lucky person who happened to be in the clan chat at that time. Well, I kind of forgot about it after a while, so here's a new and refreshed version (that I'll try not to forget about)!

This time around, whenever I hit a multiple of 500 clues completed of any specific tier (say X), I'll give away (X/100) million GP to the one lucky person who finds me first!

I like this idea, I'ma steal borrow it.

Cheevos I actually want to track:
Quest Point Cape - DONE
Taskmaster
Master Quest Cape
Max Cape
Completionist Cape (TODO, maybe)
Trimmed Completionist Cape (TODO even more maybe)

July 2020 040.jpg

Hey there everyone,

I have a task that is very important that I want everyone’s input on. Our recruitment thread (T10) is reaching near the maximum of 200 pages posted. That means it’s time for a new recruitment thread.

I am running a contest to see which clan member writes the best recruitment post pre-amble. This post will be the first post in our new recruitment thread. The post should be the sales pitch to anyone who’s considering joining up. What better thing is there than to have one of our very own members describe Clan Quest and tell someone why they should join?

****WINNERS***
I took elements from all three submissions and made a semi-combined post. There are comments, and color coding to show my work. The final product is below. I take no credit, it's Diana's, Cireon's, and Questcaping's work.

WAY TO GO!!!!

July 2020 041.jpg

Welcome to Werewolf! If you've played Mafia or Town of Salem before, don't panic: this is just another variant of those. If you haven't played a game like this before, read through this post to learn how it works! And even if you have played before, be sure to read through anyway to learn this specific ruleset. Ask me (in this thread or elsewhere) if you have any questions. -Questcaping

July 2020 042.jpg

These events will be Loot Share Keeps, that means we have loot share active and if you get it you keep it!

NOOBS WELCOME!

The idea of this event series is to bring the clan into some PVM environments to help build confidence and have a good time. this will hopefully progress to some future events involving some higher tier bosses :o

these events hold no requirements other than the requirements listed for the boss in game :)

Seriously, just bring whatever you are comfortable wearing, you're welcome regardless of gear / experience! -Idiotonastic

Pride Month Clue Bingo!
July 2020 043.jpg

With June being Pride Month, it's a great time for a pride-themed clue scroll bingo event. No, you don't have to be gay to play, but that's the format the source event was in so I'm rolling with it!

This event will last for 3 weeks: From June 8 2020 to June 29 2020. The first person to find all items (or the most items) at the end of the event will win a few Pride-themed awards that are worth over 60m, collectively.

And the winner is Lady Klaw!

And from our very own Questcaping!
