This guild was made official as of the vote on March 12th, 2018.

The Questing Clan of RuneScape is the largest Guild in Clan Quest, and is the Guild in which "Clan Quest" was founded. All of the Clan's founders and current Clan Councilors came out of the Questing Clan of RuneScape, which has had a long history spanning from November 9th, 2009, when it was founded by Draziw, Sethron 666, and Kappathegray, to now. The Clan was founded to bring together likeminded individuals who prided themselves on their completion of RuneScape's various quests, and their ultimate goal was to obtain the coveted "Quest Cape". Not only that, the Guild was founded to help other people, not just members, complete these quests, making it one of the only "Quest Help Clans" in the game, and by far the most prominent.

Structure

As per the Clan Constitution, the Questing Clan of RuneScape is organized into its two primary bodies: The Guild Council and Honor Council. However, there are also numerous other groups that makes up the Questing Clan of RuneScape that have been officialized as per the Constitution's "Other groups" clause. These groups have long been staples of the Clan, but have historically been less organized or "official".

Guild Council

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape Guild Council
The Questing Clan of RuneScape's Guild Council, formerly known as the "Low Council", has long been the Guild's day to day governing body and has had a history almost as long as the Guild's itself. In order to join the Questing Clan of RuneScape's Guild Council you must possess a Quest Cape and have been a member of the Guild for at least ninety days. The current head of the Guild Council is Earth, who was elected on July 15th, 2021.

Honor Council

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape Honor Council
The Questing Clan of RuneScape's Honor Council was the first Honor Council ever established, and was done so in response to a major fight between the 2010 equivalents of a Clan Councilor and a Guild Councilor. There are only ever three members in the Questing Clan of RuneScape's Honor Council at any given time, and the current membership consists of Xurdones as the leader, who still needs to appoint his assistants.

Former Groups

Recruitment Razzers

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape Razzers
The Recruitment Razzers were formed and ran by MsKonnan10 and Lizbeth on September 2, 2011 to organize the Guild's recruitment efforts on a more controlled scale. Any member of the clan could volunteer to work with the Razzers, and on October 15th of that year the group was formally recognized as a subgroup of the Questing Clan of RuneScape. The official group was disbanded on March 21, 2018.

Event Thugs United

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape Event Thugs
The Event Thugs United, usually just called the "ETU", started out as a group of clanmembers, mainly Hemsky, Rerecros, Sinistral, and Bobacupcake, hosting events under the guise of a single group. The group got its "thugs" name because they were often on the more aggressive side in getting members to participate in their events, but ultimately they were so successful that the Event Thugs became the Guild's official event hosts. The official group was disbanded on March 21, 2018.

Guardians

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape Guardians
The Guardians were a secretive organization who's identities were only known to a select few that were responsible for determining whether or not new recruits were a good fit for their Guild, and whether or not they were allowed to remain. Once the Guardians had given a new member a vote of confidence they were then taken off of probation and made full members of the Questing Clan of RuneScape. The Guardians secrecy was an extremely important part of their effectiveness, and even asking about their identities could be grounds for removal from the Guild. The Guardians were disbanded when the Guild Council was formed along with the new Constitution.

Combat Marshals

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape Marshals
The Combat Marshals were a subgroup formed by Karen Angel on May 21st, 2014, in order to bring together the Guild's members who were more interested in cooperative combat content. As time went on they became the unofficial "Clan Army", even receiving their own subforum that designated them a seperate entity from the Event Thugs. Following Karen Angel's departure from the Guild, and the implementation of the #rs-pvm Discord channel, the Combat Marshals are no longer considered an active group.

Content Editors

   Main Article: Content Editors
While not an official branch of the Questing Clan of RuneScape, the Content Editors did get their start there with the RuneScape themed "Questaholic" Magazine. Officially, the Content Editors were a subgroup of Clan Quest, overseen by the Clan Council, but their core membership was pulled from the Questing Clan of RuneScape, and because of that the group was closely tied to that Guild.

History

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape/History
The Questing Clan of RuneScape was founded on November 9th, 2009 by Draziw, Sethron 666, and Kappathegray. While the Guild was initially hosted in Draziw's personal Clan chat, it quickly became apparent that the limited moderation abilities this provided his cofounders made things far too difficult, so it was relocated to the "Clan Quest" accounts Clan chat. As a Guild that was, at least partially, created by members of another, failed, Guild, it found that it had a quickly growing roster, and by the end of December it had over forty members. The Guild was also recognized as an official Clan by RuneScape's developers, Jagex, earlier that month.

The Questing Clan of RuneScape only continued to grow rapidly from there, experiencing almost consistent growth until the April 2011 Clan Camp update that caused it to suffer a mild setback, but since then the Guild has experienced nothing but active growth. On January 15th, 2010 the very first Clan Constitution was ratified, and with it the first form of Clan Government was born. Only July 14th, 2010 a fight between two of the Guilds ranking officers occurred, and in response to this the Guild created the Honor Council, which held the power to render judgements and deal with these conflicts in a more effective, unbiased fashion. The Honor Council was ammended into the Constitution on Octber 1st, 2010, but July, 2011 that document had been retired and replaced by the Clan Quest Charter.

On September 2nd, 2011 the Recruitment Razzers group was formed, and then officialized on October 15th of that same year. At the same time, and in the months before, several other members of the Guild were hard at work hosting events for the community under the communal label "Event Thugs United". Shortly after, on January 1st, 2012, the Questing Clan of RuneScape began publication of the "Questaholic" Magazine. As these groups formed, the "High Council" and "Low Council" began to take on more defined roles, with the former working behind the scenes and the latter running day to day Guild operations.

The Guild continued to grow through the years, both in membership and in numbers of Councilors or other volunteers. The Government itself stayed relatively the same in structure for years, based on the 2011 Charter. In 2017, though, the High Council began working on a new, updated version of the Charter, which had been once again renamed to the "Constitution", and this version of the document aimed to make "The Questing Clan of RuneScape" branch of the much larger "Clan Quest", whereas before these two names had been one in the same. The new Constitution aimed to allow "Clan Quest" to spread to more games, and to better define the roles of the Clan Government after having been out of date for multiple years.

By mid-2016, the Guild opened its Discord server, which massively changed how members communicated with each other. The Councils also benefited from this new tool, and activity in the clan's offsite drastically lowered in favour of the Discord server, which is to this day the main hub of activity from clanmembers.

The implementation of the 2018 Constitution not only brought a reshuffling of the two governing bodies (Guild and Honor Councils). As a first measure, the in-game ranking system was updated: Low Council (Coordinator rank) and Honor Council (Overseer rank) members were all promoted to Deputy Owners, a rank previously held by High Councilors, while the Gold Key remained in the Clan Council's control. Shortly afterwards, the Event Thugs United and the Razzers were disbanded, mainly due to the fact that both groups were inactive. Recruiting had stopped being a pressing concern, given that the Clan has been close to 500 members for a long time, and event-hosting has always worked regardless of wether there were official groups or not. A good example of that is the Clan Minigame Tournament, or the high amount of events organized by members such as Questcaping and Darkestnight. Finally, the Content Editors were made a dependency of the Clan Council, specially because the aim was to spread content created not only by the RuneScape guild, and also because both the Questaholic and the Wiki were intended for the Clan as a whole.

Events

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape/Events
There has been a long history of unique events held by the Questing Clan of RuneScape, most of which have been conceived or hosted by the Event Thugs, but some have just been spontaneous bursts of fun, or hosted by those not affiliated with the group. Click the link above for a more complete list of unique events, but some highlights have been the ongoing "Spot the Noob" game, Clan Auctions, The Quest Cup, the Tears of Guthix Event, and the Questing Clan of Runescape's favorite activity, the Cabbage Bombing.

Ranking

The Questing Clan of RuneScape's ingame ranks are largely based on the Clan's two major bodies: The "Government" and the "Membership-at-Large". They are also bound by RuneScape's relatively limited ranking system, which provides thirteen unique ranks that a member can hold, with the top rank being the "Owner" of the Guild. The lowest of these ranks is reserved for new recruits who are in a probationary period, while the following five are used to represent a members level of Quest completion. These ranks have no actual meaning other than as a "progress bar", no one with a higher rank in this category has more power or influence than anyone else. The next highest rank is reserved for volunteers wishing to utilize the Clan's Citadel Avatar, which gives an ingame experience boost, and every rank above that are reserved for members of the Clan Government and its subgroups, such as the Razzers and ETU.

Vexillum

Clan RuneScape logo 001.png

Every clan within RuneScape is given the ability to create their very own "Vexillum", which is a flag that can be planted almost anywhere in the game that proudly displays your clan colors, symbol, and can be read for additional information. Of course, the symbol and color are all based on a large list of presets that can be customized to the Clan leaders desire, but in the end it is still limited. The Questing Clan of RuneScape's Vexillum is primarily white themed with a light blue trim, emulating the games Quest Cape design, and a combination of the Quest and Achievement symbols are used, creating the look that has defined the Questing Clan of RuneScape since Vexillum's were added.

Clan Citadel

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape/Citadel
The Questing Clan of RuneScape went hard to work when Clan Citadels were released on July 26th, 2011, and by April of the next year they had reached the Tier 7 rank, the highest obtainable by a RuneScape Clan. They would spend the next few years finishing off all of the Citadel's upgrades, leaving them with a 100% upgraded Citadel.

Nogard

   Main Article: Nogard
Nogard is the Questing Clan of RuneScape's dragon, who lives in their Clan Citadel. The clan spent several months preparing to unlock this feature, which included holding a vote on what to name the dragon, determining what type of Dragon would best suit the clan, and writing the story about its birth, early life. Nogard's story has been compiled into a single series of articles, which can be found here.

Alliances and Absorbed Clans

Main Article: Questing Clan of RuneScape/Alliances
The Questing Clan of RuneScape has had a long history of alliances with other clans, and in its time has absorbed many other smaller clans. At the moment, the only major alliance the Questing Clan of RuneScape has is with the RuneScape fan site RSBandB, who's owners hold high ranking positions within the Guild. Some of the clans past notable allies were the Knights of the Abyss and Caped Carousers, while notable clans it absorbed were Wolfs Eye and Diary of Questers.

Clan Quest Account

Main Article: Clan Quest RuneScape Account
The RuneScape Account "Clan Quest" is an alternate account of Draziw that was created to both serve as a branded account for the clan, and to help give the clans cofunders the ability to manage the clan chat back when the chats owner had full administrative privileges. It has since become the "leader" of the Questing Clan of RuneScape Guild, holding the highest possible rank in the RuneScape clan system.

Church of Brassica Prime

Main Article: Church of Brassica Prime
The Church of Brassica Prime is a holy organization that worships the one true God, the God of tastiness, Brassica Prime. It was founded by Rerecros and though common practice has fallen, Brassica Prime is still recognized as the chief diety of the Questing Clan of RuneScape to this day.
