Throughout its history the Questing Clan of RuneScape has utilized the RuneScape Official Forums(RSOF) as the forefront of its recruitment efforts. While the clan is based within RuneScape itself, and all meaningful interactions are done there or on the clans official website, it has consistently maintained several threads on the RSOF throughout the years, requiring new members to post an application there before being considered for membership. Every thread has been named in the format of "The Questing Clan {†#}", where the "#" started at 1 and has gone up as each thread reaches its post maximum, which on the RSOF is 2,000. As of July 4, 2020, the Questing Clan of RuneScape is on its eleventh recruitment thread.

The following lists information about the recruitment threads used by the Questing Clan of RuneScape. Unfortunately, in the early months and years of the guild history little was done in the way of recording history. As such, little to no information exists about threads †1 through †5, as they were wiped from the RSOF after reaching their post limits. What is known, though, is that these five threads existed in a time frame of less than two years, meaning they reached their post limits much faster than later threads did.

Clan Quest is more than just a group of RuneScape players and a clan chat. Not only do we host events weekly, but we also publish a clan magazine. Our Discord and website are always bustling with activity. We also play other games as well, including Old School RuneScape, Rocket League and D&D.
Clan Quest also regularly meets in real life, strengthening bonds between members and having fun. We attended RuneFest and even held our own gatherings, like Clan Quest Summer Camp in Sweden or Clan Quest Fest in Ohio.

Our Clan and Friends Chat channels in RuneScape 3 are named Clan Quest, although the latter is primarily used by our Old School RuneScape members.
Clan Quest was created in November of 2009 by a bunch of questers who shared a passion for the game's quests and lore. After inviting all the “Quest Noobs” they knew, they requested recognition from Jagex and were formally recognized in the Clan Database on December 8th, 2009. Hereafter, all new recruits are called noobs to this day.
Clan Quest was featured in the Clan Blog (by Mod Timbo) on August 4th, 2010, and featured again during the “Clan Celebration Month” of March, 2011. Throughout the decade Clan Quest has maintained a presence at RuneFest recruiting Jmods and handing out Clan Quest t-shirts. Fast forwarding to 2019 Clan Quest competed in the Clan Cup yet again and Clan Quest’s popularity has only increased.
As it stands now, Clan Quest has nearly 500 members, and is the largest Questing Community in RuneScape! Clan Quest is also listed on the RuneScape Clan Wiki, Runehead, Official RuneScape Wiki. Clan Quest is also promoted heavily on the RSBANDBUpdate! podcast and has its own RuneScape Fansite. As publishers of the monthly magazine Questaholic, we strive to maintain an active presence in the RuneScape, Questing and Clan communities.
Ever been called a noob? Fear not, for this is no bad thing! In our clan, it’s considered a term of endearment, with many of our members incorporating the word ‘noob’ into their nicknames. Everybody starts out inexperienced, and we encourage our members to learn and grow together. Noobs need XP too! If you’re not an expert, you’re a noob. But you’re OUR noob! Since nobody is an expert in everything... we are all noobs!
Rest assured, if you are called a noob you are considered a part of our clan family. We take this very seriously! Feel free to call any of us noobs (as long as you remain polite) and please mind our intentions if you are addressed as a noob.
There has been much discussion about the value of questing compared to other game content. In our minds there is no contest. The fundamental gameplay in RuneScape is adventuring, exploring the lore, and fighting for good (or evil). This - the main idea and objective of the game - finds its primary outlet in quests. Everything else - all the skilling and training - is there only for the adventurer to train to the level of being able to successfully live through the adventures. Skilling is practice - the quests are the real RuneScape tests.
A quester must have ingenuity, determination and imagination in order to complete a quest. Quests open up entire areas, new armour and abilities that expand the depth and breadth of the game. Questers can ride eagles, use fairy rings, and even manage their own kingdoms.
With new quests being added and the minimum skill levels required to complete them constantly rising, Clan Quest is here to help. Whether you’re playing through the game for the first time, starting a new account, or going for your Master Quest Point Cape, Clan Quest is here to help you get that cape. Quest Point Capes of any style will never go out of fashion!
To ensure that everyone in the channel has the most fun, certain rules are in place to protect members and visitors to our clan. All participants are expected to follow our clan's rules. All members of the clan are assumed to have read and agreed with the rules. Failure to adhere to these rules can result in consequences varying in severity.

(3) No Spamming.
(4) Conflict? Deal with it oin private.
(5) No inappropriate or offensive usernames. Must notify of any name change.

We also have a few simple rules for our Clan Chat:
(1) Think before typing. if you wouldn’t say it to your mom, do not say it.
(2) Be careful with sensitive topics and respect requests for a change in topic.
(3) Realize that not everyone agrees with you. This may not be the venue to change their mind.
(4) Do not direct profanity at another person.
(5) Do not use profanity excessively.
Need to contact a Guild Councilor? Join “Clan Quest” Clan Chat and check if a silver key rank is online. If not, ask the members to forward a message to them. Don’t forget to specify how and when to contact you.
Members
One chevron- Probationary members.
Two chevrons - Members who have completed between 20% and 40% of quests.
Three chevrons - Members who have completed between 40% and 60% of quests.
Bronze star - Members who have completed between 60% and 80% of quests.
Silver star - Members who have completed between 80% and 100% of quests.
Gold star - Members who have completed 100% of quests.
Bronze Cross - Members who have obtained shown increased familiarity with the game by obtaining Taskmaster.
Silver Cross - Members who have obtained both the Master Quest Cape and the Taskmaster emote.
De-ranking isn’t usually done, once you have earned a rank but no longer meet the requirements for that rank, you will be allowed to keep that rank. Of course, this does not apply for those that have left the Clan and are re-applying.
Officers (requires QPC)
Bronze cross - Emeritus group (retired Councilors).
Silver key - Guild Council, Honor Council.
(Other ranks are unused)
If you have all the requirements to be ranked up, you will need to contact a councilor who is online, and he can check the requirements so you can be assigned your new rank.
Requirements to Join
- Must be a Runescape member.
- Must have completed at least 20% of all quests (per individual’s Runemetrics).
- Must have read and acknowledged clan rules.
Requirements to become full member
- Must have registered for an account on the clan’s website, as this is where we organize most of our Clan activities.
- Must have shown they are a fitting and contributing clan member, as judged by the Guild Council.
Steps to Join
(1) Join clan chat “Clan Quest” as a guest. Talk to our members and see if you like our community. Make sure you get to know people and people get to know you!
(2) Post an application letter based on the template found below.
(3) After your application is accepted by a Guild Councilor, get in contact with a Guild Councilor in-game to receive your rank.
(4) We require all members to create an account on our clan’s website, which is used as the primary source for intra-clan communication and event coordination. This is also where you can find a link to our Discord server!
(5) Once you have met all membership requirements (see above), you may be afforded full membership to the clan.
