Cyan Ryder is an adventurer and lorehound. His favourite lore topics to research are Elves, Gods and Dragons, all while quietly speculating about the future of Gielinor. After joining Clan Quest, he enjoys talking about the game and its lore with others, either in game or on Discord.

When not gallivanting through a virtual fantasy realm, Cyan becomes George, a UK based Primary Teaching Assistant, who spends his working days attempting to teach young children. On non-working days, he also enjoys playing other video games, gymnastics, and playing music.

Cyan enjoyed writing his own user page as it finally allowed him to refer to himself in the third person without looking like a crazy person.

Name Meaning

Cyan - after the colour of the same name. The colour cyan is often associated with peace, calm and protection.
Ryder - an old English occupational surname for a knight

Runescape History

Cyan first joined Runescpae back in 2006, when a friend introduced him to the game. He would spend the next year or so bumbling around the game, not really knowing what he was doing at all, before leaving it behind.

Moving on to around 2009, he and his friends decided to get back into the game for a little while. It was during this time that he completed everything free play had to offer, and slew the dragon Elvarg. Following this he bought membership for the first time and began to take his first steps into a much larger world. Unfortunately, before Cyan could delve too deep into new adventures, he left Runescape behind once again.

Fast forward to 2013, and Jagex officially announce Runescape 3. Remembering how much fun he had in that game earlier in his life, he gathered another of his friends and dove back into Gielinor in the Sixth Age. It was during this time that he began to become more interested in the lore of the game, doing extra research and pushing to get the requirements for the higher level quests. With a newfound love of lore and storytelling, he soon obtained his Quest Cape.
Having obtained his cape, he wanted to find new people to share his love of the game and its story, and he soon found Clan Quest. He guested in the clan for a while before becoming a member in December 2016.

On June 2nd 2019, Cyan was officially promoted to be a member of the RS3 Guild Council, much to his joy and honour.

Cyan has continued to play Runescape up to this day, surprisingly still on the same account he made all the way back in 2006.

RuneFest

Cyan first attended RuneFest in 2017. He ventured to London to meet other members of Clan Quest for the first time. He spent most of this trip being flattered by Draz for being "the most handsome man I have ever seen".

The following year, Cyan ventured to Farnborough to return to RuneFest 2018, and catch up with clannies once again.

Cyan returned to Farnborough in 2019 for his 3rd Runefest in a row.

Streaming

In early 2021, Clan Quest began regular streaming on it's Twitch channel. Cyan volunteered to be the face of the weekly Tuesday stream.

Other Adventures

Currently, Cyan is being introduced to the world of Dungeons and Dragons, playing through the Cigam Campaign with other members of Clan Quest, as Commandant David Evans. He took a break from D&D for a few weeks for studying, then returned to Emoria as Devlin Brien.
