Abilities

As an elf, a warlock, and a skilled rogue, Illy has several unique abilities beyond her fighting skills and spellcasting ability.
  • Sneak Attack: When Illy has the advantage over her opponent, or when she is surrounded by her allies (or, at the very least, her enemies other enemies), she has the ability to deal additional damage to her opponent with her finesse weapons.
  • Dark Vision: Though she tends to hide it, Illy is an Elf, and her elven blood grants her sixty feet of dark vision.
  • Trance: As an Elf, Illy does not need to sleep, but rather gains her rest from meditation lasting at least four hours.
  • Mask of the Wild: Ill is capable of hiding, or attempting to hide, in the surrounding scenery even when she is only lightly obstructed.
  • Cunning Action: Illy's cunningness allows her to dash, disengage, or hide while in combat, while also simultaneously attacking.
  • Master of Tactics: Illy is capable of helping her allies in the midst of combat, even if the people she is helping are 30 feet away.
  • Master of Intrigue: Illy is proficient with disguise and forgery kits, and is proficient at mimicing speech patterns and accents she has heard.
  • Uncanny Dodge: Through sheer reflex and dexterity, Illy can halve damage she takes so long as she can see her attacker.
  • Evasion: Assuming she properly saves herself through dexterity, Illy can either halve or outright avoid all area of effect damage directed towards her.
  • Insightful Manipulator: After speaking to or interacting with a creature outside of combat for at least a minute, Illy can make certain determinations on whether that creature is her equal, superior, or inferior in terms of intelligence, wisdom, charisma, and class level.
  • Hexblade's Curse: As a Warlock Hexblade, Illy is capable of cursing an opponent, granting her additional damage bonuses to them until their, or her, death or incapacitation. If her target dies, she regains some vitality, but she can only do this once per rest.
  • Inspiring Leader: Through her study of the group combat book, Illy has learned vital leadership skills that allow her to inspire more vitality into her party should she spend ten minutes inspiring them.
  • Tactical Stance: When close to an enemy and two of her allies, Illy is more competent in battle thanks to her study of the group combat book.
  • Devil's Sight: Through her Warlock studies at the Cigam Headquarters, Illy acquired the ability to see in both normal and magical darkness up to 120 feet away.

Weapons & Armor

Weapons

As a rogue, Illy has accumulated several finesse and ranged weapons which she regularly cycles through in battle.
  • Silvered Daggers: Illy has a set of two silvered daggers that tend to serve as her primary melee weapons in battle.
  • Bloodthirsty Bistoury: A magical dagger in Illy's possession that does additional damage to all attacks it makes so long as it is not held by anyone evil.
  • Argentum: An immensely expensive dagger Illy stole from a museum where it was being held on behalf of a Praetorian Guard. It is not particularly useful on its own, and since she stole it a massive bounty has been put out on the person responsible - she will inevitably be killed if she is captured by its owner.
  • Longbow: Illy's trusty longbow; it doesn't have any special traits, but as a rogue the ability to attack from range is an absolute necessity, depending on the circumstances. Aside from a standard set of arrows, she has a few special ones:
    • Smoke Arrows: When these arrows make contact with a surface they break and release a cloud of smoke, allowing Illy to move around unseen within it.
    • Rope Arrows: Arrows with a rope attached to the end, allowing her to fire her bow like a grappling hook to aid in scaling walls or holes.
  • Gnuns: After fighting a battle in the Human-Gnomish War, Illy recovered two prototype Gnomish weapons, known as "Gnuns", that utilize gunpowder to fire pellets from a metal chamber. She was very excited to receive them, but has had little luck with firing them accurately.

Armor

As a rogue who needs to be quick on her feet, Illy tends to opt for lighter armor that balances protection and her ability to move around in a fight. She wears a set of glamored studded leather armor that has been enchanted with a spell that lets Illy changes its appearance to suit her needs. It does not change the armors effectiveness, merely its appearance. The rest of her armor was fairly standard until her encounter with Cane, who ultimately destroyed her boots in the name of "science". In order to repay her, he melted down all the gold she was willing to give him into a set of magical golden boots with a magical enchantment allowing her to walk up to 100 feet on any surface, including water and even the air, once per day.

Equipment

Illy has acquired several items throughout her adventures, both standard and magical in nature. Most of them are just standard utilities, such as potions, while others are items she has carried with her throughout her adventures, and have become invaluable tools combined with her particular set of skills.
  • Golden Bottle: A magical bottle that automatically fills itself at the beginning of each day with two doses of Greater Healing Potion. When available, Illy will fill two empty vials per day from the bottle, only for it to refill itself the next morning, and repeat. She received it at the same time as "The Elephant", in the secret military base under Torrig.
  • Eldaris' Tiara: Received from Vylqwyn in exchange for "The Elephant", Eldaris' Tiara is a head worn magical item that turns invisible when worn and grants Illy several unique powers, though she can only use one of them per day.
    • The first ability, "The Sentinel", allows her to create a visage of herself where she was standing, and it can relay information back to Illy up to a mile away that it can see. If the visage itself moves more than 15 feet from its origin point, it vanishes.
    • The second ability, "The Patsy", allows Illy to become invisible and leave a mirror image of herself where she had been. The Patsy can move around naturally, so long as it remains with 15 feet of the tiara. If it is attacked or touched Illy will lose her invisibility.
    • The final ability, "The Posse", creates three images of Illy all within 5 feet of herself, which confuses enemies and will likely cause them to strike out at an illusion of her, rather than the real thing. If they are touched they will vanish, and the effect lasts only one minute.
  • Groth's Ring: After fighting Groth, Illy was granted a mystical ring that allowed her to communicate with him any time. Additionally, Groth imbued the rings with magic that would only activate when the wearer acts opposite to their typical nature; for Illy, this means that whenever she is truly and fully honest, she will receive a huge boost to her charisma.
  • Wyrm Venom: A vial of Wyrm venom Illy received after slaying a group of purple Wyrms on the way to Big Rock. She can apply it to any of her weapons to receive a one-time poison damage bonus to whatever she uses it on.
  • Infinite Coin Pouch: Illy, along with the rest of The Stampede, purchased an Infinite Coin Pouch after the Championship of Champions in order to store her winnings. She carries it with her to this day, the storage of all her wealth.
  • Many Handed Pouch: After the Championship of Champions, and a convincing sales pitch from a particularly charismatic pouch salesman, Ivo Arend purchased a set of ten "many handed pouches", which all shared the same relative area of space. Basically, this allowed Ivo to have a shared "inventory" of items with a group of up to ten people. He eventually gifted one to Illy, as well as the rest of the party, to act as a shared party inventory, especially for their collection of greater healing potions.
  • Cigam Amulet: An orange-tier amulet representing Illy's role in the Cigam order. It grants her access to a Wizard's spell book, and contains several additional perks bound to the amulet itself.
  • Potions of (Greater) Healing: Illy has a small stockpile of healing potions, in large part because of the golden bottle she received alongside "The Elephant".
  • Rope: Fifty feet of rope that Illy keeps in her bag.
  • Efficient Quiver: A quiver that has been efficiently designed to allow Illy to store more arrows on her during her adventures.
  • Hood of Disguise: A magical hood Illy has had in her possession for some time that allows her to freely and instantly cast the disguise self spell that only ends when knocked unconscious or willingly removed. She has typically used it to disguise her Elven features while operating in the Human Emorian Empire.

Skills

Languages

Illy speaks five languages fluently:
  • Common: It's Common, everyone speaks it! Also, Illy is well traveled and so it's a necessary language to know when interacting with people around the world.
  • Eastern: Illy spent some time
  • Elven: Illy is an Elf. She was raised in an Elven kingdom. It's not much of a stretch.
  • Thieves' Cant: Thieves' Cant is the standard, secretive language of rogue's, and the ability to speak it was a skill Illy picked up on over her years of being a rogue.
  • Gnomish: While visiting Lord Luman, just after being tasked with aiding in the Human-Gnomish war, Illy announced that was unable to speak Gnomish. So Luman did what any rational person would do: lifted his magical hammer and knocked Illy across the room with it, magically imbuing her with the ability to speak perfect Gnomish.
