13This application is Clan Quest's fourth application for a Guild, and if accepted would create the clan's fourth Guild and result in the inclusion of 0 new Clan Members being added to the existing ~750 Membership-At-Large. The founders of this Guild posted their application on the forum thread found here. Creating a new hub for ironmen allows us to help each other more easily and attract other ironmen to play with. Group pvm is a big issue for ironmen and therefore attracting new ironmen can be really helpful in this regard. We can still hang around in the main chat as guests or via our main accounts, but the separate clan channel allows us to meet an ironman account need that is not as easily fulfilled using just cc Clan Quest. While we recognize that some people in the existing RS3 guild might not necessarily see a need to separate the two groups into separate clan chats, this is something asked for by the people listed as our founding members, as well as additional members down below. We would prefer our own guild. Administration: Here are a few points to consider in support of the guild, and about its operation generally. Recruitment can be done in a similar way as is done in the main rs3 guild. Because ironman accounts often have a main account associated with them, there is a potential that ironman accounts joining this new group will attract new people into the main clan as well. We also have the potential to recruit ironman accounts from mains affiliated with non Clan Quest clans, increasing the clan’s (if not rs3 guild’s) total membership. Management of our new guild should be relatively similar to the operation of RS3’s management. We likely won’t have a quest cape requirement to join the Guild Council, but we will still maintain a ranking system that is based on quest points, and we will still encourage questing in conjunction with our chief focus of playing ironman accounts. We’re aware that there might be potential negatives to splitting membership of ironmans from the RS3 guild. Because of the ability to guest, we find the potential negative to be far outweighed by the benefits we see, and the simple ability for our unique community to better organize. Moving the small number of ironman accounts out of the cc Clan Quest, frees up spaces in game for the RS3 guild’s channel, ensuring that a sweep will not be immediately needed. (CC Clan Quest is approaching 500 members. Adding new members will require kicking people to free up slots. This approach allows alt accounts to move to another clan in game, while still keeping the community whole). Creating this new guild means we will create a new clan chat. We are incredibly excited to create a new guild! |

I feel that having an ironman clan would give more efficient access to support for ironmen related content, especially for new ironmen. My vote is in assumption that although this clan is geared toward ironmen, ironmen accounts may still freely join Clan Quest if they wish.

I also see this as considerably less divisive than clan members joining separate iron-exclusive clans on their alternate accounts in search of PVM buddies. I can think of a lot of negatives -- weirdness in administration, for instance, under the assumption that everyone here is gonna keep on guesting in the "main" clan chat. Can foresee the Iron and main RS Guild/Honour Councillors having to work very closely together, for sure, and I can't imagine the split being anything but counterproductive on that front. This also effectively monopolises the guest clan chat use of people who play primarily on irons. And I can't imagine new members wanting to join Iron Quest over Clan Quest -- it looks like it'll be a guild formed primarily of alts, with little to no unique members, having it always feel like a "secondary" guild. I do appreciate the solution to the 500 member problem, though, especially one that works without sweeps of people who still might return. Ultimately, I wanted to spell out my hesitations, but I'm voting AYE instead of NAY or abstaining because I think if the irons in this clan thinks this works and is worthwhile for them, then I trust that judgement and want to encourage that self-determination. Thank you, CK2. Now,I highly agree with both yes and no, I see reasons as to why or why not, but the argument that "ironmen would choose us instead of another clan" is pretty strong. I agree that cleaning our roster is easier if we are worried about our 500 limit, but this is different than just reaching a limit. I can't say I'll participate with my Ironman account, but I don't ser the harm on volunteers trying to find a solution to Ironmen problems.
And, if it doesn't work, we can always call Earth and his BANHAMMER, just for fun.

I echo cireon in saying there are likely simpler routes to go down here.
