Christmas message from the Councillors

Hi Everyone!

As December winds down, I wanted to take a moment to thank everybody for another fantastic year. You've all made my life incredibly easy since taking over as the head of the Clan Council. That fact that a group this big and this diverse continues to thrive is truly remarkable, and it wouldn't be possible without each and every one of you. Even as someone who barely touches Runescape (or chess) these days, I am extremely grateful to be a part of this community. On behalf of myself, the Clan Council, the Heads of Guild Council, and I'm sure many others, thank you for being you!

Christmas message from the Advent Team

Over the past three years I have slowly grown to become the Advent Director. People will know by now that when October comes around, I am already busy preparing the Advent Calendar for that year. This year, more than ever before, I was supported by an amazing team of people coordinating all the efforts to build the calendar you have been enjoying over the past few weeks.

I am usually afraid to miss people when thanking people by name, but this year I will try anyway! So, I wish to thank Choto, for coming through (even though he scared me by leaving it to the LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT) and rallying people in ways I never could, Darkestnight for her invaluable opinions and being an example of reliability, Santa for being our saviour when other entries fell through, Xurdones for being an absolute chad when it comes to Wiki magic, and Shane for delivering the calendar platform this year, even though I must've changed the requirements at least twice.

Of course, the Advent Calendar is a display of the huge variety of talents we have in the clan, and so it couldn't have happened without everybody who contributed an entry: Choto, Darkestnight, Shane, Moesen Natha, Questcaping, Santa, Luke, Francine1225, sk8r dan man, Tim, Diapolo10, Uptheirons05, and Miss Alaska. If you enjoyed their entries as much as I did, don't hesitate to let them know directly.

Finally, the biggest part of the Advent Calendar is always you, the people who read the articles, watch the videos, participate in the events, and join the fun during our live streams. On top of it all, at the time of writing, you have helped raise a whopping $875 for St. Jude by donating to the campaign! Now, I hear you ask:

To put this number in context, this covers more than half a chemotherapy treatment, or provide meals for between three and four families at the hospital. However you put it, your donations will have a real impact on some families. Donations will remain open until the end of the year, so if you are able, please donate now!

With the Advent Calendar completely revealed, the Advent Team will go back underground to prepare for next year. Any feedback can be shared by tagging the Advent Team on Discord, or by sending a DM to Cireon.

On behalf of the entire Advent Team, I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

This year we are raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. You can donate directly through our campaign page. If you want to show your appreciation to our streamers, make sure you donate during their streams, as they'll be keeping an eye on incoming donations and reading out donation messages! We also have goals and incentives to hit during the month of December, so keep an eye out for those as well.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and cures childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
