The street sweeper shambled along the dark road, stopping only as he felt a speck of cold hit his forehead. He looked up from his broom: that had to have been a snowflake, and sure enough, there it was joined by another two falling impudently from the sky.

Tch. Snowy season. Always the worst.

He carried on his miserable little sweep, before stopping at something else. He did a double take in the dim starlight: surely that wasn't a speck of red on the ground? Who could possibly be bleeding on his nice roads?

Whoever it was, he thought as his eyes followed the trail, they sure were bleeding a lot.

Blood mingled with falling snow on the uneven cobblestones, mixed in all the further with matted grey fur as the sweeper's shamble increased to a run. This couldn't be happening, could it? He'd heard stories from the neighbouring towns -- a town completely overrun by werewolves -- the cracks in the paving stones trickling with blood. Nobody wanted that, least of all the person whose job it was to clean it all up.

Someone had to be told. Everyone had to be told...

... and by the time the sun was up, the whole town having been woken in one way or another, there was a bonafide angry mob gathered in what had been the street sweeper's nice, clean streets.

This was not going to be pretty.

WEREWOLF: MIDWINTER EDITION

Advent 2022 Day 8 001.png

Welcome, one and all, to Mayor Questcaping's latest clannie-versus-clannie bloodbath! This isn't the first time we've done this: our first took place on Clan Quest's forum in summer the year before last. Check out this neat gif I made back then to show how it all played out:

Advent 2022 Day 8 002.gif

The rules as listed in the thread are the same rules that will be used here, so I thoroughly recommend reading them before you sign up!

However, in this edition of the game, there are THREE EXCEPTIONS to those rules:

  • To help with the pace of the game, there will be NO SUNDOWN PHASE. Execution voting will take place during the Daylight phase, and the phase will end once everyone present has either voted or chosen to abstain. (Once you have made your choice, you may NOT change your mind.)
  • The game will take place in a thread in the Clan Quest Discord server's #events channel, which you can join here if you haven't already.
  • Players who did NOT participate in the last game will be prioritised. If there are more signups than available slots, then an additional observer role, called the ANGRY MOB, will be created. This will function essentially like a Jackbox audience vote, in which the assembled masses of onlookers can participate in a vote of their own, and as such contribute one additional vote to each round of execution voting.

Got that? (If not, I'm always happy to help explain.)

Please also pick a UNIQUE EMOJI to represent yourself (or your in-game character, if you're more of a roleplay type)! This will be what people will use as a react to vote on you, like so:

One vote for Turtle Emoji Player to be executed when daylight ends. Uh oh!

If you'd like to play, come on down to the Discord thread, where a handy signup template has been posted!

Signups are open till Sunday (I won't give an exact time -- there's some leeway there). We'll be playing with somewhere between 9 and 13 players, with roles assigned as listed in the offsite thread.

Additional information will be made available in the Clan Quest Discord server as necessary.

May the best wolf, human or jester win!

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

This year we are raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. You can donate directly through our campaign page. If you want to show your appreciation to our streamers, make sure you donate during their streams, as they'll be keeping an eye on incoming donations and reading out donation messages! We also have goals and incentives to hit during the month of December, so keep an eye out for those as well.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and cures childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
