Welcome to December! (Yes, we're already that far into the year. If you need to go stare into the middle distance for a bit, please do so now.)
2020's been quite a year. Why not close it out with something good? As Clan Quest, we've put together an Advent Calendar spanning from today up till December 25th, both to spread some festive joy to our communities and as a fundraiser for Direct Relief.
Direct Relief is a charity whose mission statement is to "improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations by mobilizing and providing essential medical resources needed for their care". They work to provide relief all over the USA and in more than 80 countries worldwide; check out this page for some examples of their work. The charity has a perfect score on financial efficiency, accountability and transparency, as rated by Charity Navigator, so you can be sure that as much of your money as possible is going to a good cause.
Our campaign has an initial goal of USD $250, but if we manage to exceed that, then all the better! As we hit higher and higher milestones, we might just have some fun surprises in store...
Over the coming month, we'll be posting a whole variety of content on a daily basis. Some will be related to the games we play as Clan Quest (with representation from both the RuneScape and Old School RuneScape Guilds, as well as other games we personally enjoy), some will be more general; naturally, a lot of it will also be related to the various holidays celebrated over this period. I won't spoil everything we've got in store, but there are streams, stories, competitions, art, articles... and more, some that I don't even know how to describe!
For now, though, allow us to introduce our first festive offering: a fantastic bit of Christmassy music, as kindly composed for our advent calendar by the incredible Gawkie! Many thanks to him for supporting our fundraising efforts!
