Kicking Choto over the Belgian border was Clan Quest's first Real World Meetup of 2023.
Choto and Shiro met up in Utrecht, after which they travelled to Eindhoven where they were ambushed by Derp. In Chess Guild tradition, Choto and Derp immediately played a game of chess, in which Choto convincingly beat Derp in the former's favorite opening, the Bird. Quickly afterwards, Cireon and Slayer joined the group and they went for lunch. After a filling lunch, the group went to show Choto one of the favourite Dutch passtimes: bowling. After a convincing bowling victory for Shiro, the group went to play glow in the dark minigolf, where again Shiro showed his dominance.
After having a drink in the minigolf place, Cireon left and the remaining attendees played some more chess. Most of the games were 1v1 blitz, although the group also played their first games of hand & brain chess. Notably, Choto and Derp played two more games of blitz, in which both participants scored one victory. As a result, Choto ended the day on a positive score against Derp in real-life chess.
