OSRS name & previous name(s): Vice Lopez
Have you read our rules? Do you agree with them?: I have read the rules (as contained in the Constitution of Clan Quest and found in Article IV, sections I through IV) and agree with both their spirit and my intent to abide by them.
Do you accept to becoming part of the Clan Quest family, and will you respect other members, even if your opinions differ?: I look forward to becoming a part of this family and will respect all of its members, even if we have differing opinions.
Total Quest Points?: 0
Favorite Quest? Why?: Unsure as of yet.
Least Favorite Quest? Why?: Unsure as of yet.
Total Level?: 32
What's your preferred gamestyle (i.e quester, skiller, pvmer, etc)?: I am a whole-game-wide completionist.
How did you learn about our clan?:
https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/wiki/clans/
Would you rather walk a mile in another man's shoes, or carry the man the mile?: I would prefer to carry the man the mile. This is due to both pragmatic reasons (despite wearing a US size 11.5 shoe, my feet are extraordinarily wide to the tune of 6EEE, so any other man's shoes would most likely hurt) and the philosophical constraints of the "question" (given the fact that I am not this man, I cannot truly "walk" in his metaphorical shoes, so my only options are to carry him, other wise assist him, or abandon him).
If you close both eyes, can you still see?: Technically speaking... Yes. Sight is not defined by WHAT we are seeing, but rather by our ability TO see! And given the fact that shut eyelids are not "light-tight"? We CAN see since there is light seeping through!!!
If you know what you do not know, do you know everything?: "Knowing" everything would imply, to me at least, having knowledge about everything. If you have the knowledge that you do not know much, or even anything at all, about a subject? That is not "knowing" said subject! So, no... I would argue, in fact, that it is impossible to "know everything"- even if you had an immortal's life span!!! Knowledge is not just content based, but also involves, by definition, understanding.
[Optional] When is your birthday? (We are making a clan calendar): December 3rd, 1990.
Do you have any questions about this clan, e.g. its threads, the application, etc.?: Yes. While reading the Constitution, I did not see anywhere inside of it any mention of the Clan Councilmembers needing to be odd-numbered. This (in my opinion what should be an) omission was repeated for the Guild Councilmembers... This was, however, mentioned in the portion on the Honor Councilmembers! Was this by design (as in, only the Honor Council must have an odd number of councilors), or was this an omission? If it is an omission, would it be both appropriate and desirable for me to draft up an amendment proposal?
Another question would have to be that, in Article III - Organization Structure, within Section V - Finances is Subsection III - Game Currencies, in which is stated that, "game currencies have real world value"... I would argue that this statement requires clarification. In the cases of our OSRS and RS3 guilds? In game currency has a direct correlation to real world currencies with an explicit value in each because of Bond prices! However, in our Chess guild? The waters are (significantly) watered... Can one give out their chess.com account information to another person for artificial inflation and pay said person for bringing their Elo up? Yes, of course!!! But the "pricing" for such a "service" is, to my knowledge, relatively fixed and based upon Elo sought, NOT upon starting Elo and the difference between it and the ending Elo. I have spent a fair amount of time researching this with google searches, but have, as of yet, found nothing directly related to Elo carrying services, so I admit this IS an assumption! That being said, it is based upon my 28ish years spent playing games online. So please do take it with a grain of salt... But, regardless of whether or not it is entirely correct? The situation remains the same!!! There is no direct correlation of chess.com Elo rating to a real life currency value.
